Hi, I started this blog to try and provide true information about politics and politicians.
I am not doing it to convince anyone else of my opinion or to try and sway anyone to vote one way or the other. My reason for doing this is to give enough information about both sides so that people can come to their own decisions regarding candidates or politics.
I am only interested in people taking the voting process seriously enough to actual become informed and not just act on the PR (Public Relations, the surface appearance of a candidate). I am willing to drudge through all of the Bull$#!+ that is told to us so that you the readers of this blog don't have to.
You will never hear me say that you should vote one way or the other.
That does not mean that I do not have my own opinion, and because this is my blog, from time to time I may speak out, for or against a particular bill or measure happening in the world of politcs.
I encourage everyone to get informed and to get their friends involved and most importantly VOTE, because your voice does count, my voice counts, and if enough of us get involved we may be able to make the difference that so many of us want.
Get It?

Constitutional Awareness
From time to time, most likely at least once a week. I am going to bring to light something from the constitution.
I personally have a problem with the idea that just because someone has served as a US Senator, that they are qualified to be the President. There have been several good presidents that have served in Congress or the Senate before becoming president, but that is not, in my opinion, the reason that they were good Presidents.
There are three branches of the US Government:
The Executive.
The Legislative.
and
The Judicial.
Our forefathers, who fought for the freedoms that, let's be honest, most of us take for granted. Had this to idea for the three branches:
Article. I.
Section. 1.
All legislative Powers herein granted shall be vested in a Congress of the United States, which shall consist of a Senate and House of Representatives.
Section. 2.
The House of Representatives shall be composed of Members chosen every second Year by the People of the several States, and the Electors in each State shall have the Qualifications requisite for Electors of the most numerous Branch of the State Legislature.
No Person shall be a Representative who shall not have attained to the Age of twenty five Years, and been seven Years a Citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an Inhabitant of that State in which he shall be chosen...
...No Person shall be a Senator who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty Years, and been nine Years a Citizen of the United States, and who shall not, when elected, be an Inhabitant of that State for which he shall be chosen.
The Vice President of the United States shall be President of the Senate, but shall have no Vote, unless they be equally divided...
Article II.
Section. 1.
The executive Power shall be vested in a President of the United States of America. He shall hold his Office during the Term of four Years, and, together with the Vice President, chosen for the same Term, be elected, as follows:
Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors, equal to the whole Number of Senators and Representatives to which the State may be entitled in the Congress: but no Senator or Representative, or Person holding an Office of Trust or Profit under the United States, shall be appointed an Elector...
Article III.
Section. 1.
The judicial Power of the United States shall be vested in one supreme Court, and in such inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish. The Judges, both of the supreme and inferior Courts, shall hold their Offices during good Behaviour, and shall, at stated Times, receive for their Services a Compensation, which shall not be diminished during their Continuance in Office...
---
If you will notice, It lays out pretty specifically that each branch has a seperate duty in running the country, and they are not the same functions. I encourage everyone to take some time and actually read the constitution anew. This document can still be used to have a great country, it is still workable in this day and age.

And the evil of two lessers
This post is only a short list of the "qualities" and "qualifications" of each of the nominees that we have to choose from this November from the 2 major parties.
(D) Senator Barack Hussein Obama Jr -
Born 4 August 1961 (47 yrs old) He would be the 4th youngest President ever elected to office
Elected to the Illinois State Senate 1996, 1998, and 2002. Lost an election for the US Congress in 2000.
Elected to the US Senate in 2004, sworn in on January 4th 2005, served three years of his first term (of 6) before declaring his run, and winning the Democratic nomination for President of the United States.
(R) Senator John Sidney McCain III -
Born 29 August 1936 (72 yrs old) He would be the Oldest President ever elected to office
Elected to the US Congress in 1982 and 1984.
Elected to the US Senate in 1986, 1992, 1998 and 2004, Ran for the Republican nomination for President in 2000, loss to President George W Bush. Declared again and won the nomination from the Republican party in 2008
There you go, not a bad way to start, more to come.
Edit*
By the way, I have heard supporters of Sen. Obama saying one of the things that they like about him is that he didn't vote for the war in Iraq.
Sen. McCain voted for the war.
Just to set the record straight on this one point: The war started in March of 2003, with a majority of Congress voting to Declare War, Sen. Obama did not take office until 2005, he was not in the Senate until almost 2 years after the Declaration of War, so it is true he did not vote for the war.
