This post is only a short list of the "qualities" and "qualifications" of each of the nominees that we have to choose from this November from the 2 major parties.
(D) Senator Barack Hussein Obama Jr -
Born 4 August 1961 (47 yrs old) He would be the 4th youngest President ever elected to office
Elected to the Illinois State Senate 1996, 1998, and 2002. Lost an election for the US Congress in 2000.
Elected to the US Senate in 2004, sworn in on January 4th 2005, served three years of his first term (of 6) before declaring his run, and winning the Democratic nomination for President of the United States.
(R) Senator John Sidney McCain III -
Born 29 August 1936 (72 yrs old) He would be the Oldest President ever elected to office
Elected to the US Congress in 1982 and 1984.
Elected to the US Senate in 1986, 1992, 1998 and 2004, Ran for the Republican nomination for President in 2000, loss to President George W Bush. Declared again and won the nomination from the Republican party in 2008
There you go, not a bad way to start, more to come.
Edit*
By the way, I have heard supporters of Sen. Obama saying one of the things that they like about him is that he didn't vote for the war in Iraq.
Sen. McCain voted for the war.
Just to set the record straight on this one point: The war started in March of 2003, with a majority of Congress voting to Declare War, Sen. Obama did not take office until 2005, he was not in the Senate until almost 2 years after the Declaration of War, so it is true he did not vote for the war.
